1.   Summary

This product bulletin announces new NetApp Select FAS3020, FAS3040, and FAS3070 multiprotocol SAN bundles available for sale worldwide exclusively through channel partners.

In addition, this product bulletin announces changes to the NetApp Select program. Beginning in February 2007, all NetApp Select bundles are available worldwide and are available for pricing PVRs. Additionally, starting in March 2007, any combination of software and storage options can be configured with NetApp Select bundles.

These new FAS3000 NetApp Select bundles continue to deliver the benefits of NetApp Select:

  • Best pricing: NetApp Select ensures the best price for a given solution.
  • Ease of ordering: Configuring a FAS system is easy when you follow the NetApp Select symbol through the configuration process.
  • Exclusive application solution software bundles: NetApp Select offers special application solution software bundles to ensure that the software required for a specific application is available at the best price.

 

The three new FAS3000 multiprotocol SAN bundles are configured for high-availability applications with two active-active RoHS-compliant controllers and include licenses for FCP and iSCSI protocols.  

 

2.   What’s New

 

To augment the recent changes in the NetApp Select program, the March 2007 Quote Tool update includes the following enhancements:

 

  •  Storage Options: Choose from specially priced NetApp Select storage bundles (4 or 8TB FC; or 7 or 14TB SATA), or configure storage from existing FAS3000 options.
  • Software Options: Choose from specially priced NetApp Select software solutions (data protection or disaster recovery), or configure software licenses from existing FAS3000 options.

 

In February 2007, NetApp Select incorporated the following changes:

·         NetApp Select bundles are available worldwide.

·         NetApp Select bundles are available for pricing PVRs.

·         Three new multiprotocol SAN NetApp Select bundles are available: FAS3020 dual-controller SAN bundle with iSCSI and FCP; FAS3040 dual-controller SAN bundle with iSCSI and FCP; and FAS3070 dual-controller SAN bundle with iSCSI and FCP.
